Anxiety and depression is affecting more children every year. 1 in 6 Children aged 5 – 16 are experiencing difficulties with their mental health.
Low self-esteem and lack of confidence can affect how children view themselves and their abilities. This often has a negative impact on their work, studies, relationships, and health. Low self-esteem and a lack of confidence has been proven to have associations with mental health conditions such as anxiety and depression.
Children with high levels of self-esteem go on to form better friendships and relationships and have more successful careers. They can overcome mistakes and challenges; problem solve and have a greater level of independence.
Children need to be taught these fundamental skills to deal with the anxieties and stresses of daily life and be the best versions of themselves. At I Am Me, we prioritise children’s mental health and our aim is to equip children with the skills to improve their mental health and lives while having fun!

WHAT WE DO
WHAT WE DO
At I Am Me, children engage in a range of fun activities, games and challenges that focus on our key skills.
We begin each day by completing our morning journals. These are guided sessions where we identify our strengths, reflect and take a moment to express our gratitude. We then complete a morning yoga session. These sessions include independent activities, partner work and group work.
Each day children complete an Art-Based activity focusing on one or more of the I Am Me key skills. We also do some carousel activities focusing on our key skills. During this, children are in groups of approximately 8 children of a similar age range. This is a perfect opportunity for our I Am Me staff to focus on particular skills we’ve noticed particular children struggling with. For example making friends, being confident and persevering.
Before the end of the session, we have an opportunity to reflect, share are work from the day and complete some activities as a whole group. Throughout the day, we also complete some meditations and mindfulness activities.
Throughout the week at I Am Me, children will have time to discover what makes them unique and special. They are encouraged to be proud of themselves, their differences and the achievements they make throughout each day.
At I Am Me, we want children to feel safe and confident. We focus on building relationships of trust so we never force a child to share / present. Instead. we work closely with them to equip them with the skills and confidence to take that step when they are ready.

I Am Me Camp, waws my 6 year old’s first activity away from school. I was worried because he can be very shy and cautious, but Nacera was an extreemly welcoming presence and my son attended happily every day. He was excited by his artworks and loved showing us the yoga poses he was learning. I was really suprised when the following week my son started to use playground equiptment that he had previously been too scared to try. He tells me now that he feels “courage” and I am certain this is due to thee mental and physical confidence he gained from this fantastic camp!

My 6 year old daughter thoroughly enjoyed her time at I Am Me camp and came home beaming each day! She loved all the activities such as art, socialising with group games, yoga and spending time in the garden. She has learned calming techniques to help her with her emotions and we really feel that her confidence has grown since attending this camp. It’s been a delight to hear her speak about the values that were strengthened at I Am Me, such as kindness and gratitude. We are truly thankful to Nacera, Claire and Shannan who are absolutely wonderful and amazing with the children. We highly recommend I Am Me and will definitely sign up again!

Our 5 Year old adored her week at I Am Me. She loved the yoga and journal writing and keeps talking about her positivity rock, as well as all her friends she made there. We have come away with some lovely techniques for her to use to help her regulate her emotions and she is quicker to recognise situations where abit of self belief is needed. Nacera and Claire are clearly very passionate about what they do and how they can make a wonderful, positive difference to children. They were really engaged and I was particularly impressed by the personal feedback we had on our daughter throughout the week. THANK YOU! we can’t wait to sign up to the next one!

If you are considering booking a place at I Am Me then do it! My daughter had the best week of her life (her words!) At the end of day 1, she said she couldn’t wait to go back. Even if you can only send your child for 1 day you won’t regret it! As a parent, it has been incredible seeing how confident my daughter felt, and having somewhere with a focus on looking after mental health as well as fun is really special! Thank you Nacera and your team you are truly wonderful!

I was lucky to have Nacera work with my daughter who struggles with anxiety and low confidence due to her complex health condition. Nacera’s passion, empathy and positivity always shines through. She goes above and beyond and cares about each individual child. She takes the time to understand them and works on strategies to build confidence. I wish every child and parent could be as lucky as we feel working with her.
